EAA Impact
The Experimental Aircraft Association has been the most influential organization in my journey. My first flight ever was through EAA chapter 301 Young Eagles, a discovery flight out of Centennial Airport. The whole reason I was able to start flying was because EAA chapter 43 was kind enough to select me for their Ray Aviation Scholarship, without which I would still be on the ground. I have also been given the opportunity to volunteer several times, whether to give back at Young Eagles days, or to help out at a fly-in nearby. Both big and small chapters bring something valuable to the community, and I have been so grateful to help out in any way I can. I also love to meet new people! I was able to talk to a girl about my age and her mom about the realities and challenges involved in starting flight training and that they should apply, apply, apply for scholarships. :) I love that I was able to provide the kind of advice that was so valuable to me at the beginning of my training and even now! Through the support, encouragement, and connection that I have found in these chapters, I have been able to fall in love with flying.
