Checkride update
I had a check ride scheduled for August fourth. I made my check ride binder, did the flight plan, and was prepared 100% for the oral. However, in the preceding weeks, six out of the eight flights I had scheduled with my instructor were cancelled due to maintenance or weather. The day of the check ride came and I passed the oral, but on the first takeoff, I forgot to hold the brakes for the short-field takeoff!
So I was given a notice of disapproval. :(
I felt pretty disappointed at the time, partly because I had put in a lot of hours preparing for it, but partly because I thought I needed to get my PPL before leaving for college. I want to skip the private pilot classes at college and hopefully save some money, but I need the real certificate to get the credits checked off. I actually have until the summer, when instrument training starts, but I still would have liked to get it done with.
I do think that this is God’s way of telling me to trust Him, which is incredibly frustrating, but also a good reminder.
